ICASA has published Gazette number 36072: Radio Spectrum Fee Regulations and radio Spectrum Regulations: invitation to licensees to apply f0r renewal of radio frequency licences and or multiple year license for amateur radio, aeronautical and ship station categories.

NOTE CLOSING DATE  HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 1 FEBRUARY 2013

What does  mean?

  • A radio amateur will have to reapply for his/her licence every 5 years
  • No fees are required for the re-application
  • No examination is required

NOTES  for filling in the form

6.1 Licence number can be found on the printed licence or on the invoice you received for the last payment

6.2 Fill in your call sign

6.2 Expiry date is 31 March 2013

6.4 Do not worry if you do not have a copy of your licence

Sections  8 , 9 and 10 can be ignored as they are not applicable.

11 Only if you apply after 1 February 2013  State reason for late application as " I have just become aware of the requirement for re-application of my amateur  radio license,

12 Not applicable.
